Please make a Military Veteran Medal that can be worn by your character, and/or placed as a decoration in your home. This medal can be purchased in the store proceeds go to military veteran charity.

I used heraldry to make unit patches and a OIF ribbon underneath them

there will be no buying medals to wear/display. that would be stolen valor. the only medals in game are awards you have to be given to get.

supporting a veterans' charity is not a bad idea, though; it just needs a different item selection. what about banners using the heraldry for the various towns one's avatar might have defended?

It doesn't have to be a medal per say it could be a veteran supporters badge/house plaque. My original idea was a medal an actual veteran could wear on their character and they had to prove they were a veteran via service number maybe, but i thought that would leave everyone else out. So something to support a vet charity would be better. The idea is here it is up to the developers to implement if they see fit.

that's fine! just flesh out some ideas for items for that new make-a-difference category. it doesn't have to be you specifically, i'm sure other players can come up with some ideas.

that is not a reasonable thing to expect us to check to deliver an item.

    Could be cockades

Ribbons that were worn to show military allegiance but were also worn for political purposes, like the French revolutionary cockade that's still worn on Bastille day

    Possibly add heraldry to them

I've always liked the way the Water.org charity was set up here in Shroud: https://sotawiki.net/sota/Water.org_Charity_Mega_Set

Many people simply got the Water Cloak. But there were other great items.

For a Veteran's Charity, there could also be several items. They could be purchased as a mega-set or individual items. To make this personally meaningful, there could be two categories of items for purchase.

Veterans or current Service Members (no need for actual service verification, just buy these if desired and use them with respect):
    • Veteran's Cloak - meant to be worn by actual real-life veterans (as suggested by the OP)
      • Anyone can buy and wear this of course.
      • But if treated properly like in real life, this can work as intended. Most people wearing a "Vietnam Vet" baseball cap are actually Vietnam Vets.
    • Veteran's Banner - for a house, that anyone can place. Particularly meaningful for parents, siblings, and children of actual service members or Vets.
Veteran's Support: This shows support and donation to the chosen make-a-difference Veteran charity(ies). These would be great for a guild-house and members holding events on Veteran-type holidays.
    • Veteran's Support Cloak - can be worn by anyone
    • Veteran's Support Banner - for a house, that anyone can place.
Please make these tradeable -- so people can buy these for their friends, particularly for Veterans and Memorial Day (and the equivalent in non-US countries).
