Character Names Forum Names?

Ahh ok well maybe a dev will happen by and clear that up for us.

 

Well just to be safe I will just go ahead and not use the Lord. It doesnt really matter either way. I used Sir more any way.

I have a different name i use in the game as well in game i am Torniquet Vengeance, when we start really playing after the reglar release my name will be the same Torniquet, with a different Sir Name. So i wouldnt worry about it too much. Its all good!

I'm sure upon release there will be a massive thread started where people are posted their in game names. Most people will keep their forum names. For me I will obviously drop the Lord and have Harvey for my last name. Really hope there is a title Karma/Fame system like in UO, thought that system was pretty unique and amazing. Nothing like having "Dread Lord" on your Felucca murderer.

Actually that leads me to ask, are there going to multiple character slots?

 

I think someone said earlier in this post that there would be 3 and then you could purchase more with in game gold or otherwise.

 

I suspect that if SotA implements a similar title feature, the titles won't be cover nobility ranking. It would get confusing to have "Lord" as a title from pledging at a certain level and another noble title from in-game achievements. It would be awesome to have "Dread" or "Illustrious" in front of my name, though.

Also, that makes me assume that certain keywords will be off-limits from use in one's name. I'm assuming Lord/Lady, Duke/Duchess, Prince/Princess will be unavailable, as those will be reserved for the higher pledge tiers. Maybe not though, as that title is on a different line above one's head.

And Laird is a Scottish Lord so it would follow the same rules as Lord..,

My forum name is also my character name. It would help matters, if the forum name is reserved as character name for the relevant forum user

 

I was unaware that Lord/Lady was for high pledge tiers, thanks for the info. Yeah not sure how they would work the system then. Maybe it would just be based off the karma range instead of fame.

 

FYI regarding character slots if no one else has answered.

You only get 1 character slot unless you pledge to the tiers that give you the other 2. Originally Lord British wanted to only have 1 character that would be you and get the reputation from what you do or how you do things in game, but the clamber for more character slots continued on so finally there became a way to get 2 more for now by pledging for them.

Maybe in-game you'll be able to get extra character slots with in game gold some how, I am not sure.

But remember these extra character slots will have your original characters reputation, you can not run away from what you've done lol, or from what you have not done.

 

HAha dang I wanted a second character to be able to entertain all sorts of debauchery. Kind of like Sir Hamricks alter ego.

 

LOL we for some reason that put a voice in my mind saying something like oops I had to look it up. Well when mentioning your alter ego that is not sure why, I am just strange today I guess

So I watched a video RG did with Felicia Day and another guy, and he said he has big plans for a big consequence for us in the game. Anyway so I feel that he is very serious about his consequences for our poor little characters in what we do lol. Should we be worried? ***shivers***
