    *shivers at the idea*

Although that's a great idea on paper, I can see someone donating millions of dollars just to see spaceships, aliens and machine guns implemented.

Get Chris Roberts to split his pledged & he can have a spaceship on his yard in sota. I'm ok with that.

All they have to do there is make it one of the planets in Star Citizen.

Ok, let the Devs have control over which ideas we can donate towards.
Just hope they give us many to choose from.

Don't think it will ever happen because someone who has already donated would feel slighted if the focus of the game was changed.

All I'm saying is that I stopped donating because I did not like where PVP was going.
If they gave us something where we can put our money where our mouth is then lots of these arguments would go away.

I hear this all the time, that they're just catering to the UO crowd with no thought to single player.

UO didn't have a plot and a campaign the way this does. We're just not seeing it yet. That doesn't mean it won't happen.

As a person who wants the single player experience more than the MMO, I'm not worried. Are they focusing on the MMO right now? I would say "yes" but only in the sense that their building the basic systems still.

Think about what their primarily working on: crafting, combat, and housing. They are also creating maps and adding to the world that we get to play in. All of these will be present in the single player mode.

What about the immersion required for single-player: does it need to be added at this stage of the game? Not really. Yes they'll eventually add immersion to see how to implement it with player feedback and other such immersive systems but I don't think they need to do this yet. The other thing is the story and I believe they're holding that back on purpose: it makes sense to add this last but also to avoid spoiling the testers.

If you're building anything, you don't try to do everything at once. You go block by block. Right now that block seems to only be the MMO portion of the game but eventually single-player will get some love too.

I get that, but when? Release is sneaking up on us....not much time to "add" all this.

The game should be released when it's ready, not an arbitrary deadline that the developers should be forced to be upheld to.

That would be nice...but so far as we know....late spring/early summer is the release date they have mentioned.

And if they can meet it, then that's when it'll be out. Otherwise, they'll push it. :)

We'll see. At some point they have to release it or they will run out of funds.

I would at least like to hear the plans they have for the immersion of single player. That it is not in the game yet, because it is an alpha phase is understandable but what are the plans regarding respawning, economy, repeatable quests etc. All of those immersive features that a true single player game needs.

There is alot we are getting that will be used in both modes of play.

The world, ai,ui, encounters, scenes, spells, creatures, ect...

Both parts are getting worked on now together.

So I really dont think we can say work is being done on one but not the other.

We just dont know how each part is going to come together in the end.
