    MMORPG just published a new article titled "Release 29 - The Great Divide?"

    Some interesting quotes:
    -The team has added just shy of 40 new scenes in this release, including the Brittany and the Crypt of the Avatar story-related scenes.

    I don't think I'll be able to resist exploring the Crypt of the Avatar. Temptation is not virtuous!

    - For instance, alchemy now gets access to an engraving system for upgrading weapons and armor. The initial system is just a random opportunity to add a semi-random bonus, but the number of bonuses will be increased over the next several months. Even cooler, the bonuses you get will be region-specific in time, and then eventually will also be tied to astrology.

    Awesome! Location-based crafting effects and soon, Astrology-based too!

    He also discusses two other highly divisive topics (hence the title).

    The new targeting system...
    - The big change in this pass is a major reversal on how targeting works, and it’s going to be noticeable in the extreme.
    - It wasn’t entirely intentional, but it struck me as infinitely poor timing to be making a change of this magnitude a few months before their final wipe. Changing the way targeting works isn’t just a simple control switch.

    As Starr has been known to say: the only constant is change.

    ...and POTs:
    - They’re also justified in pointing out how those towns weren’t deliverables in the original crowdfunding campaign. Points the developers absolutely own up to when I’ve talked with them about it.

    For anyone mistakenly thinking that the regional economy was already in place...this is when the actual regional economy will begin to exist in the game. It's going to take months for this to really flesh out too.

    That, along with the fact that they will begin to control when/where harvestable resources can be collected (and possibly with more control over adjusting mob loot tables as needed) means we will really start to see a "regional economy" system.

    FYI - Astrology is NOT in yet, that I know of. Just something that's in the works.

    Its odd how the article mentions the targeting and one could get a sore hand playing the game for long periods of time. I actually had to take a break from the game due to my mouse hand getting some kind of carpull tunnel symdroms like effect in my middle fingers due to using the right mouse button to look around...

    I am looking forward to trying the new targeting system :)
