I'd like to see actual rare items have their own color.

This will help stop some of the nonsense where people sell Jugs of Whiskey on public vendors for 125k.

If the item is being sold somewhere in the world on an NPC vendor or it's just something someone picked up off the ground, it should not have the same colored text as a rare item.

:) I don't care. Just clearly identify them.

I think normal "green" would work.

LMAO a rare is determined by the player not the game - if a player deems a "Jug of Whisky" rare and worth 125k so be it. If another buys it good for them.

This is not like the ones in the past that players labeled things to deceive.

Dragon bones are not rare anymore - players solo the dragon so who really cares.

If oyu pay thru the nose for items so bee it if oyu charge to much good for you.

The economy is so screwed up that nothing can fix it but time.

New players as simply screwed . . .

let the buyer beware. 125k jugs of whiskey is unforgiveable, but no one's making anyone buy them.

I understand and fully support the "buyer beware" mentality. However, without the ability to take in game recourse (bounties, blacklists, etc) I feel more must be done to help new players avoid this aspect of the game.

Oh yeah they don't post here much unless it forwards their mindset . . . . most are even gone . . . . .

I think having rares be a different color would be great. My only question is: what exactly would qualify as a "rare"?

I personally think coloring rares .. which is done in other games, I think more often so you don't accidentally sell or dispose of the rares than the issue you're referring to .. is too much of a UI-based solution for a RP problem.

This happens often because people don't even know they've picked up rares !....

...and that happens because people just go around double tapping E over dead bodies while they're fighting enemies without even seeing what they're looting because the loot window opens and closes so fast, then it gets dumped in a general inventory into a big list of 60+ weapons which don't weigh you down much at all but serve the purpose of tediously grindy farming runs.

Just saying, there's so much else going on here that I would like to see looked at before this issue comes up...

I think some sort of system to mark items as rare would be nice.

The point of the system they designed is that player crafted goods are the "best", and artifacts are secondary. Coloring items by "rarity" seems counterproductive to this goal.

Not to mention that some items (renamed items, for example) already have special colors. That would interfere with such schema.

Really, if the goal is to be able to preserve items we want to keep, being able to "lock" items, which render them unsellable and untradable, seems a better solution.

That's a good point; there's a kind of 'attack' going on with inability to identity/lack of knowledge in the community - and it could harm newer players.

I think rather then "rare" just change the colours of the artifacts.
