Release 11 Access turning off Thursday November 13 and Data being Wiped

    In preparation for Release 12 we need to turn off access to Release 11 tomorrow (Thursday November 13). Access will resume with Release 12 on November 20.

    Unfortunately we will also have to wipe all the data as well as too many changes to item architecture, character data, and ownership have been made for us to make them backwards compatible. Going forward we will sometimes attempt to make these kinds of changes backwards compatible to prevent wipes. However making these changes backwards compatible takes time away from other work like new features, content, bug fixes, etc. This means we have to evaluate backwards compatibility versus forward progress. To date we have always erred towards forward progress and wiped with each release. Going forward we will start striking a balance. This means we will still have occasional wipes but perhaps they will not be as frequent (i.e. every release) as they have been.

    Price of progress!

    Have the devs considered starting players at a more advanced level (10? 20?) so we don't have to kill bunnies to level up and can start effectively testing R12 a little sooner?

    Also I had a BIG hot tub party scheduled for the 15th, can you please postpone the wipe, thanks.

    Oh no, I have not done so many things yet... when on Thursday you close the game? Will it be at the end of the day (please tell me it will be at the end of the day).

    Anyway, I am OK with wipes between releases, at least there is something to do in each release:) And this extended tiem is great.

    I think this means also the end of a chapter we all have been part off since Kickstarter.

    Now i see Steam ahead of us. And it will change alot.

    R12 will have a very different feel then all the Releases before.

    The more players the harder it will be to meet within game.

    I would love a place in the game dedicated to the pre steam time.

    Could you ad a secret spot that is just as the Chicken Room.
    Reminding us on the first time we all logged in.

    open things, take things, sell things...boring but I've done all I can do otherwise for now....R12 kinda takes the wind out of my sails...though i should buy recipes before the wipe to have them on hand :)

    Whipe it don't start with any favors, grinding is part of the game.

    1 Mil LoL van be done in about 2 hours easy just loot the right places.

    Canot wait till 12 and see what else is out there :)
