As always, we will be giving out rare Lord British artifacts of immense power and glory, and answering your latest questions. For a chance to win an artifact, be in Discord chat during the livestream. There will be multiple chances to win throughout the broadcast!

    First great job devs.
    My question is how soon can we see the quest system fixed? Also will the PRTs be loaded with npc vendors to accomodate folks who move into them so they can adjust to their new homes better. I know the PRTs are not storyline connected but they should be treated the same way as NPC towns. At least with a few basic vendors like banks, towncriers that are there for the most part and maybe a general store merchant and basic trainer.

    Question) About the Death pets that you can summon, Could you make it that once you Set a pet once summoned to Passive, Aggressive or Defensive that they stay that way even thru death so that way when you summon one again it will remain in that Form.

    This will make it so that when I summon another pet because of Death or it decayed, I wont have to set it again every time.

    Q. We have Noticed that there is no difference in speed in Swift Gathering skills above 70, is this a known issue or a intentional game design?

    Q. What are the chances to remove the Random from the Enchanting and Master Crafting skill, that so many of us have discussed on the forums?

    Q. Are there going to be adjustments to the crafting recipes to reduce the huge amount of resources needed to make a item, (IE 10 metal ingot to make a ring or 12 scrap per ingot)

    Q. Will the NPC vendors be adjusted to were they buy items and pay the players higher prices, as the item prices increase until there back down to the Base price.

    Question: Will tamed pets eventually have skills and stats that have to be trained and developed just like players? (also the max skill and stats differ from another tame)

    Question: Will tamable pets ever make use of the color palette and super duper uber rare colors spawns?

    Question: Dynamic weapons is something that is being worked on but have you thought about us mages? For example a wand that becomes undead slayer should add 10% dmg to spells cast on undead.. and not melee hits with the wand.

    Question: I’ve been fighting with my fists for 2 releases now. Haven’t been using weapons because the wand and staff do not shoot out anything. So in my drunken state, I am trying to achieve drunken fist GM. (Along side magic punch spells). Do you think there will be a possibility to create a tree for punching? It would be nice to crit with a punch, do some uppercuts and knockouts for stun effects etc.

      Question: Why are the staffs and wands only acting as melee weapons for bludgeon? What happened to the ranged attack/autoattack?

    Question: Could we see a greater variety of craftable, dyable clothing? ie Suits, Robes (open and closed), Sashes, Cloaks. Also clothing that can be worn atop of armor.

    Question: Could outdoor trees get another look at their border collisions, it’s extremely difficult and frustrating trying to fit them onto village lots along side other decorations etc, especially the taller palm trees.

    Question: Could the smithy and smelting stations not be considered as lighting sources? Having them on one’s roof fills 2 outdoor lighting spots but their light is negligible if present at all. This is especially frustration to village owners since many houses have roofs and the light limit is only 6.

    Question: Joe Garrity won an ONBE for his work with the Origin Museum, and it was mentioned that a Royal Museum would be put in-game in his honor. When will we see the Museum, and where will it be located?

    Question: The Words of Power were previously announced. When will we see them added to spells in the game?

    Question: Crafting in general is fairly lackluster, mostly because there is no interaction. its simply click-and-wait. Can there be some Active skills added, and maybe some “events” that those skills counter, for Gathering, Refining, and Production? That would at least get crafting on par with combat as far as user interaction!

    Question: The Pontificate emote was apparently made “teachable” but only to those who newly acquire it. Will anything be done to correct this for those that already have this emote?

    Q: Would it be possible to add a setting that, when turned ON, would periodically (every second or so) log player position information (while in a scene) to the log file? This would allow making map tools that could show known locations along with the player position within a scene.

    Q: Is there a roadmap / schedule available for when the various cloned scenes will be “un-cloned”?

    Q: What happened to the original crafting table design where you actually put the items on the table as demo’d early on? I’m guessing this was changed to the current list box UI for a reason, but I missed it as I was away from the game for a bit. Would you mind repeating that history again? Just curious what prompted the change.

      I’d like to revise the first question I posted if possible (don’t see a way to edit comments). I discovered the CurrentPlayerData.txt file which is periodically updated already by the client. Would it be possible to make this be the same format as the /loc command? Then CurrentPlayerData.txt could be read just like /loc output which contains area name, map name, and location. That would be a big help for map tools in trying to locate the player.

      A bonus, nice to have feature, would be to then have both /loc and CurrentPlayerData.txt also contain the heading in which the player is facing. That would allow drawing an arrow on the map with the current heading.

    Q: What kind of spell combos can we look forward to? Fire + Earth = Lava for example. I’d love to summon a volcano with Ring of Fire and Earthquake.

    Q: Will Health potions get multiple tiers of various strengths in the future or will they be changed to % hp base so they are useful to everyone? Maybe the more health you’re down the more effective the potion?

    Q: Besides the Lottery and cash shop, what other options will players have for getting deeds?

    Q. Can we get a way to smelt more then 1 ingot or 1 leather, at a time, same for other refining skills.
    IE. we can do 1 ingot at a time up to 20 times, I’m asking to do more then 1 at a time say 5 ingots at a time up to 20 times,

    Q. Was there a reduction in the amount of Scrap that we now gather from using the Salvage skill?

    First of all I like the deck system and the management of skills, but I have issues with the UI window for Skills, skill trees, and skill acquisition. Here are my questions:

    Q: Since there are quests for learning master skill training already implemented, can not all adventurer skills and combos be learned from specific quest trainers for whom either coin, item, or story-based resolution (depending upon the motivation of the NPC) works as payment for the training so the experience seems more organic and immersive?

    Q: Since learning and advancement of skills is regulated by the mechanics of xp pool management, is it necessary to have a skill tree where there have to be skill unlocks in order to gain a skill of choice that is dependent upon having learned a prerequisite skill?

    Q: Why are staves not a hybrid of bludgeons and polearms? Can these not fall into their own separate category as a purely crowd control weapon?

    Q: Concerning magic school spells, why can’t those glyphs be placed in a spellbook and categorized by magic school type and managed from that spell book instead of through the skill UI window?

    Q: Does the player have to know skill combos from the start or is it better or more fun for the player to discover them from experimentation?

    Loving the game!

    Q: Will there be a buy back from vendors for selling something by accident OR will be able to say put items in a backpack and set it not to sell?

    Q: Would it be possible to put a cancel button on the crafting table?

    Q: Would you please take another look at the mobs in the mines. I was in Etceter Crag Mines
    last night opened a room and I could swear the slimes multiple as they were killed. It was too much for two people we had to leave the mine.

    from what was explained to me, the mechanic to take gold from players and put it into the NPC ECO(economy), drives NPC to drop gold when killed. True/False

    If this is true does it drive NPC to drop more gold with more gold is put into the NPC ECO?

    if this is all true could we see an in-game story/background to explain/show this mechanic, would be really nice for immersion.

    Q: Can we please remove corpse wax as an ingredient in beneficial potions. I refuse to craft or quaff health potions (or any other kind of potion) that uses human remains of any kind as an ingredient. My characterS are not cannibals. (Plus it doesn’t make any sense to begin with)

    Q: Will there be payment plans available to upgrade existing towns and/or bundles? I’d really like to upgrade over time but can’t afford to pay huge lump sums.

    Q: Will player owned vendors ever has a use offline? Such as selling stuff into the world over time.

      There used to be payment plans, you could have arranged one at any time. They are now unavailable as the bundles and such are no longer being sold, as much as I would love to upgrade to Lord Marshall over time.

    DISCLAIMER:: Not trying to be mean with this question, not a flamebait question I just would like to know the plan here ;).

    Question: I uo it was very difficult to gain the rank of GM sometimes taking many many months or years to achieve but you still had the sence of accomplishment in the 70s and 80s. Here its pretty easy to gm alot of stuff in a month and there is no feeling of accomplishment in th 70s and 80s. Is this by design or will we see this shift more as the game develops were gm has real value?

      There really is no GM in this game. you can take your skill way past 100 and being at 100 isn’t all that great. If anything, 200 is the real GM with far better success rates of exceptional and +7 gear. Getting there will take you a very, very long time and certainly comes with a lot of pride. The 100=GM=best is a really unfortunate misconception about this game.

I am still having a hard time telling the direction SotA is trying to take for a couple of concepts, so that would be incredibly helpful (to me).

    Question : Could you provide a list of ‘singleplayer/party’ scenes and talk a little bit about why you chose to restrict each scenes?

    Question: How does the ‘randomised masterwork’-concept fit the ‘we want customer to come to a crafter and ask for a specific set of equipment’-design you have mentioned often in your hangouts? (Wouldn’t it have to be a ‘I can select a specific masterwork from a long list’-concept to fit that design)

    Of the two PVP towns that Portalarium has provided (both of which are listed as PRTs), Coral Cove has massive potential to become a very important PVP player destination. With tons of available lots and overland access, is there any chance that Coral Cove will get a makeover and a bump up from PRT to NPC status, given some story, and an unclone?

    Two big questions/requests:

    1) Could you please put in an option to disable the glow from magic/enchanted armor/weapons? It is quite jarring to have parts of one’s body glow in yellow etc and just takes you out of the world. Would be nice to just look like you’re wearing realistic armor.

    2) Anything can be done to fix the watchers? They are very loud in scanning and scan every player/npc non stop. I know everyone plays with sfx off but for those of us that don’t it would be nice if the watchers weren’t so annoying in their sounds and getting under your feet every. single. time.

    Question: What is the overall plan for Cooking with respect to making all the ingredients gatherable/farmable or at least available (I.e. where are the carrots) and for making the consumables meaningful?

    Question: What is the overall plan for Agriculture with respect to what items can be grown, water sources, moon cycles, time-to-harvest, etc and are there plans for any basic info for how Gardening works or will it be up to the players to figure it all out on our own?

    Question: There has been a lot of work put into the new player experience… But what of new player expectation management? It seems like many people (including long time backers) are unclear about the functions that Unity offers in terms of what is or isn’t possible for future development (especially instancing and change state). It may be helpful to make a new video with some high-level discussion on this.

    I’ve just read a post with a reminder from Berek that says only one account is allowed to post on the forum. I understand and accept this restriction, but I’ve inadvertently broken this rule.

    Question: Are there circumstances when it is acceptable to post logged in on a second account? (Examples: when that acccount is first created to introduce the character or when that character discovers a bug and goes to write up a bug report) or should this always be done from a player’s main account?

      Hi Acred! I can answer this directly :). Thank you for posting with one account. A second may be permissible, but it must be reported to us and have a very specific need. For example, we allow some secondary accounts if they are guild leader accounts, players owning of fansite stores, etc. There are very few cases of this need, so it’s the exception rather than the norm.

      For any bug reports that you’ve given examples for, please use your primary forum account.

    Q1. Arrows currently weigh 10x what the ingredients to make them weigh. Can we please have lighter arrows?

    Q2. I would really like to be able to choose when my character goes into combat mode. Being forced into it against my will any time a wizard casts a spell on me while running through a control point, for instance, is really annoying. Sometimes I just want to run and heal, but the added cooldowns make that impossible. can we maybe get a toggle for auto-combat mode?

    Q3. May we have deer hats please?

    Q: Are there plans to move music from constantly playing 24/7 to being used to provide occasional atmosphere, a track during combat, and to indicate season/weather changes? I keep my music muted 99% of the time – not because the music isn’t great, but because it is unnatural to hear it constantly.

    Q: Combat remains clunky for mouse button movement users. When will the get attention such that wasd, left+right mouse button, and right-only mouse button movement works regardless of stance? It is very frustrating to be dropped into combat and find oneself standing still until auto-attack is engaged.

      So, here’s my followup question:

      Question: Can one of the Craftable Items on which one might display their arms be something very like the Battle Banners (at least in concept) that might have someone’s personal arms placed on it rather than the Lord British or Dark Starr arms?

      If so, I would also like to request that they be made bot Lot and POT Deco items.

      Question: How will the Arms be registered and communicated to Portalarium?

      Early on there was the College of Arms that was charged with this. I know that Ronan is keeping some semblance of the original vision alive. Is this still to be the official method of registration?

    UO had a lot of special touches in its UI that made it a little more magical – things like the OOooOOing while being dead unless you used spirit speak to understand them, taming an animal by saying I always wanted a bear like you, power words anytime you cast a spell, the ability to not just say guards to summon them, but to spam guards or a few lines of chat above your head so that people around you knew you were panicking a little, all in good fun. These all seem like really simple inclusions – will SotA see things like this?

    Forgetting about specific features I’d like to ask a more general big picture question. What is the team’s favorite single player Ultima and why, and in their opinion what makes a game a true Ultima? Finally, how are the things in the previous question being incorporated into Shroud?

    I’ve logged many hours into the game so far and I’m having fun, but for the longevity of the game I think it needs to live up to the “Ultima” name and vision, and not just the Ultima Online vision. UO was a draw for so many people due to their experiences in the single player games.

    Q1: SOTA has been crashing computers since patch 465. It is still happening with patch 480. When will this be fixed?

    2. Also PvP is slow right now, besides scheduled tournies, I have to go shard to shard to look for one person and most of the time they are empty. What are the plans to increase player activity for PvP or tempt people into these shards? The extra beet carpace and wood isn’t doing it.

    Question: when you think to add more game content ( not a cloack or hat or a new hobbit house ) to let us stop grind always same 4 mob for days and days to collect enought exp for rise for example dex by 0.25 to add 0.0001% dps

    QUESTION: Any word on getting allowing more than three masterwork choices after unlocking specific masterwork skills (like blades and plate)? Right now once you unlock those skills you stop getting much less of the base masterwork options, many of which I still want. Maybe if unlocking each specific masterwork skill adds 2 more choice (from 3 to 5?).
