UPDATE: Because the many users had already purchased tickets and the release of these free tickets will change the odds we are delaying the free tickets until Release 34. See updated text below.
As mentioned in the Release 33 instructions we have begun the distribution of in-game Lot Deeds via Raffles. The raffles will be monthly and for this first month’s raffle we will be handing out 75 Place Anywhere Deeds and 600 Player Owned Town Deeds. Raffle Tickets can be purchased from Home Decoration merchants in various locations throughout the game.
For those backers who do not yet own property we are going to automatically enter you into both Raffles in Release 34! Anyone who has game access to Shroud of the Avatar, but does NOT yet own property at the beginning of Release 34 (September 29, 2016), will automatically be given a gift of 1 Raffle Ticket of each type to the First Raffle. To claim your tickets simply login to the game, go to the nearest bank and claim your rewards. The drawings will be held on October 27, 2016 and winners will be announced shortly thereafter. Deeds will be delivered in Release 35.
Backers are not eligible for this gift if they meet the following criteria on September 29, 2016:
I love it, says welcome play me!!
I love it, says welcome play me!! Thoigh u should double or tripple the number of pot raffles.. there are 40k + qualified accounts?
Awesome ! Glad your thinking about people that don’t own!!
Glad to see this is happening.
Good news!
Cool!
Yea I think everyone else that doesn’t get a free raffle ticket should get a house decoration plaque to be proud of for supporting Portalarium enough to not receive a raffle ticket.
We already did. Check your bank and you should find a lot of cool stuff that comes with pledges when you click “claim rewards” some people miss that button!
How many times do people have to renounce the fact that there is and has been a “claim rewards” button at the bank for quite some time now. I think the chances of that bit of information actually helping someone now has long since passed my friend. Good luck to those who receive raffle tickets for being homeless as I hope you move into my neighborhood.
Love it! This is great!
Love the solution guys. As a non-recipient of a free ticket, I fully support this.
Are the tickets available now? I tried to claim rewards at the bank, and don’t see anything.
Rarely have I felt as good about a decision that totally screws me over Good job!
This is the right spirit. This is one of the reasons why I love SotA and trust Portalarium.
I’m glad this was done, as I suspect most of those with lots of gold to spent on tickets would be those who already had property. This will mean there are lots of tickets out there, reducing the chance that all the deeds end up in a small number of hands. This is also a great encouragement for new players and those with “game only” type pledges. Bravo!
So I get penalized for already owning land?
I agree with this 100%. I would have no issue with this if it was done on a fair basis.
Despite Portalarium constantly maintaining everyone is equal regardless of account size/status; I find this discrimination unsettling.
It is not so much the action but the principle of the matter and the precedent it then sets going forward. I would say that going forward there needs to be a disclaimer on all bundles/pledges (whatever people want to call them) that if they spend more than $45 they may be excluded from promotions.
Thank you very much!
So now the free tickets are delayed. Kinda like that idea. And i hope all the summer telethon stuff will be released in the next release as well. I keep checking my bank and nuffin. LOL. Cant wait to collect all my goodies. Thank you again for the hard work and gifts.
Well I was really happy about this till I saw someone mention they had an extra 20 something accts besides their ulta uber acct. and they will all get free deeds, the intention is good – but as always someone always get unintended benefits.
So are you suggesting that people that have multiple accounts should be penilozwd for supporting the game far beyond that of the average player? All players have the benefit of a more financed game thanks to large pledgers and multi account owners, you don’t sound very grateful for the help players like myself have given to ensure this game gets made if you think multiple tickets would be an “unintended benefit”. Reading comments like yours is disheartening to players like myself that give far more to the community. I challenge you to look more closely at this issue and the ramifications beyond your own personal game experience.
“Don’t underestimate, the other guys greed.” Personally, I don’t get it. There was a lot of time to be able to buy deeds; we could even make payments for gosh sake. I have deeds that came with accounts and deeds I bought later. I also have accounts with no deeds which *technically* qualify for entry into the free arena, however I will not be attempting to obtain any more deeds via lotto regardless of it being a paid ticket or a free one. IMO, I think this, while being an interesting idea, is premature but that’s not my call. I would hope that others who already have much… can exercise restraint and leave this for those less fortunate. In the end.. I’m betting they might find the quality of their world enhanced. G/L to those deserving folk who get lucky .
How are the drawings held? Does Lum “randomly” draw them?
I think this is a great way to build a larger community in these early access days, and is a wonderful gift to a fair amount of players. Great move, thanks Port!
This game just keeps on punishing successful players. I disapprove of this. If they are given out free ticket, then give them to everyone, or none at all. Making too much, money, they nerf, too much mining, nerf. Just let the economy work itself out. If new players want housing, let them earn it, or allow them to buy them on the Store like the rest of us. Capitalism for the win! IMHO.
