Release 33 Lot Deed Raffle Winners

Yesterday we had the drawing for our very first Lot Deed Raffle and we awarded 675 lot deeds to lucky winners. There were two raffles, one for each lot type:

  • Place Anywhere Deeds: 75 Total
    • Row: 40
    • Village: 20
    • Town: 10
    • City: 5
  • Player Owned Town Deeds: 600 Total
    • Row: 320
    • Village: 160
    • Town: 80
    • City: 40

Raffle tickets grant the holder a chance to win deeds of any size (Row, Village, Town, or City). Raffles will be held monthly and we will have multiple winners for each lot size (numbers will vary each month). Place-Anywhere Deed raffle tickets are more expensive but will have fewer deeds in each raffle than POT raffle tickets, which are more affordable and will have many more deeds in each raffle. This means your chances to win a POT deed are much greater.

Below is a complete list of the winners for the Release 33 raffle. Winners can claim their deed(s) simply by logging into the game and claiming rewards at any bank.  A reminder that you may have received multiple deeds to claim if you received tickets for a guild or other group.

If you wish to review all of your account rewards outside of the game, you can do so by going to the Account menu on the main website and then selecting the ‘Special Rewards’ tab in the page menu.

Brilliant idea! This is something we’re thinking about doing possibly at some point in the future, so you may want to hang on to your tickets just in case.

My Raffle tickets are still in my inventory. Are they good to go on the next raffle ? If not, I won’t be able to make the difference between the new ones and the old.

I won more than one, but that wasn’t my goal. I tried to buy enough tickets to ensure that I didn’t have to wait an entire month just to have another shot at property ownership.

In my opinion it would have been better this way, because 79 deeds? really? even the ones who got 5 deeds ist just ridiculous, guess whats gonna happen, they are going to sell most of the deeds, and in the next lottery they might buy twice the tickets,so the casual guys have no chance whatsoever

I thought you could win one deed per category with the possibility of winning 2 deeds total. Not a whole bunch like some did. :/

$250,000.00 in deeds up for grabs… I shoulda bought more tickets :D There’s always next raffle – if anyone is looking for me… I’ll be in game grinding like a crazy person.

Congratz to the winners. I only bought a few tickets so didn’t expect to win… but was really hoping. 8-(

Is there a final number of tickets bought for each category?

“This means your chances to win a POT deed are much greater.”
Not necessarily true, but most practically it will be.

Some people spent up to 3 mil gold on tickets…and won many deeds..
i bought 1 of each, and won 1 Pot village.

@Berek – Instead of R33, R34, you could call these the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. Then it’s no longer referring to out-of-game releases and instead tracking an in-game timeline.

Bought 10 POT tickets and won 1 village and 1 row lot. My guildmates without a home will be grateful.
    Thank you portalarium.

That’s immensely disappointing, not to win is disappointing enough, but to see somebody win 79 lots makes it even more disappointing. 5,000 gold is a lot of money to me so I won’t be wasting any of my gold again.

But congratulations to all those people who won one lot deed I look forward to having a butchers at all your houses, always one of the most enjoyable aspects of UO and SOTA.

the fact that you guys designed this in a way that one person could win 79 lots is utterly ridiculous. You clearly should have just made the statement that only one deed is awarded per account (maybe they get the largest deed possible). This is the biggest failure I have seen in this game (well, honestly the only big failure I have seen).

People in this game should rise up over this and complain in bulk.

as an FYI: I didnt buy a single ticket, mostly because I just dont want to have a tax over me and I really dont care about resale.

People would have circumvented with sub accounts… this just makes it so honest people are able to do the same thing…

Holy cow at 79 deeds… nuts. Glad to know that gold got absorbed though… average value of 34k gold each lot. Seems like the original plan of having the costs increase would have been better but we’ll have to wait to see I guess!

How much duping do u have to do in order to get enough raffle tickets to win 70+ lot deeds. That dude should go for the 10k raffles next round cuz he can fill a PoT already. Jesus F**k

    1. Iviy

The guy that won these spent 3 million gold and posted in the forums that they are making a POT with free housing for whoever needs it….if it is the same person! I believe it was a joint effort as well.

More than one deed per winner sad. Would have been nice to see 600+ new land owners decorating 600+ new plots with 600+ different, intresting and creative ways. I would bet many of the deeds will sit in chests and sale vendors or displayed on public tables by elite millionaire avatars.

I’m curious how many raffle tickets were sold of each type. I had 18 POT raffle tickets and won zero lot deeds. I’m just trying to figure out what the actual odds of getting 0 out 18. According to the forums, there were 2600 POT ticket sold a couple days ago, giving 18 a 99% chance of winning at least one lot deed. There would have to be 5000 tickets sold for a 90% chance, 8000 tickets for 75% chance, and almost 16,000 tickets sold for a 50% chance. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

So, how did the ‘raffle’ system prevent single players or groups from gobbling piles of deeds for huge turarounds/profits?

    Did it accomplish this goal?

    1. Xeen Dread

Forgot to add that if the system stipulated that each player could win no more than ONE deed of each category per raffle, then that would help with this problem. Current system failed imo.

  14. swissonrye

Congrats to all the single and double winners. But being loving this game and being poor sucks real bad when you see 70+, dropping the 40k that i did means i will buy 1 of each next time for keepsakes and keep my gold and buy on the market so the people that clearly didnt need them get my gold directly.

  15. MerleMerle

Thank you for showing us all how lopsided and corrupt the practices are here, and that it’s so heavily slanted towards the top .1%. One guy was just handed over $10,000 in merchandise, makes you wonder whose friend he is

  16. GorgoGorgo

    Wath ???
    Are you serious ?
Why you dont give one chance at all peoples ? This system favorise rich peoples…

    -1 dev of SotA !

  17. KartherKarther

Hmmm I thought I read that everyone that did not have a home would be automatically entered into the raffle. If so I never got a raffle ticket.. nor did anyone I know. And really 5 or more person just insures us that there is either some favoritism going on or allowing that many to just willy inly buy raffles to get TONES of them to simply sell to other players for real money is just silly You are already setting a good example of what not to do…? Casual players will never get anything in this game if we don’t stop this greediness. Remember its the casual player that will remain long term not the instant gratification players.

I will continue on my grinding quest to build my own house and scrape enough money together each day to pay the HIGH taxes for it.. Meanwhile my play time turns into w job not a relaxing play game. There should defiantly be a limit on how many they should be allowed to win. how about 2 lets not be greedy. Also if you already own a whole fracken city or village why are you allowed to win these.?? I see names on there of players who own whole cities.. Hmmmmmm
