Question 1: When can we expect to see the second Blade of the Avatar novel that Richard and Tracy Hickman were working on? Please give us a taste of what it might be about!
Question 2: What are the plans for the Episode 2 crowdfunding that will help drive existing backers, who may already have Episodes 2-5, to invest in the expansion? Will the additional episodes appear as DLC in Steam?
Question 3: I’m very much looking forward to the Obsidian Trials, and its non-punishing PVP. Can you tell us what the PVP “currency” is and give us some examples of items you can purchase using it? I’d really like to see this take over one of the lesser CotOs, and move that from random drops to this PVP system; my suggestion would be White Iron (aka Blood Iron).
Q: For those waiting for more sandbox tools and gameplay mechanics, what we can expect to see this in Episode 2? ex: dropable items/bags to help quests created by players. Customizble npcs and respawn nodes, etc.
Q: Any plans to start running more events by GMs, or by selected players? I honestly think this game needs lot more events, out of dancing parties. In UO 80% of official events were about adventuring, rp and figthing, we barely had any of these in sota in last year.
Q: Any plans to expand the crafting system above GM skills? new bonuses for enchanting/mw and new stuff for high level dedicated crafters.
Q1: Please spend a few minutes and explain how resistances should “feel”. Fighting a yellow fire mage and I have 40 fire attunement. What should I expect when I have 80 attunement? Add in the fire resist skill to get another +20 resist. Gem-ing your equipment with ward gems. What kind of damage reduction should we expect with each step? Does each +x resist reduce damage by y?
Q2: Archers hurt. Stacking all the defensive skills or even picking up a shield does not seem to offer much protection from their arrows. Can you suggest a combination of skills or a tactic to combat archers?
Q3: I regularly play in a three man group. I am sort of tank-ish. I can hit the mob first and taunt continuously and I will still lost aggro to the archer in our group. Is there something I am doing wrong? Is there another way for a plate user to generate aggro?

The skill is no longer what it used to be!

Why the huge focus on Player vrs Player when the basic game mechanics need so much work? It seams like all the balance is for pvp play.
What is the focus of this game? When I purchased this game I thought it was the spiritual successor to uo?
Will episode 2 have a paywall for content like esp 1 has?

Question 1: If/when elves are brought into the game as a playable race, will we have an option to “morph” one of our current human characters into an elven character?
Question 2: If/when elves are brought into the game as a playable race, is there any chance that they will be a distant relative to the elves we have in the game – and not be as ugly? (Like a “high elf”, or even a “wood elf”?)
[NOTE: I do understand the backstory on the elves we currently have in the game and why they are so ugly, but I could see a backstory for a better looking ‘strand’ of elves – if perhaps a few escaped early on in the experiments before the experiments got so ‘extreme.’]
1) Does the decay death penalty for a skill increase at any point beyond skill lvl 101 (x2)? At 121? If so what is the increased penalty?
2) Do you intend to implement some sort of specialization system for crafting skills?

1) 2h quarterstaves. Melee weapon (not mage staves!) that’s all wood. So no metal in the recipie, this is my quarterly quarterstaff request. Please give some quarter and show mercy to friars, monks, and stave loving folks in all quarters of Novia.
2) Can the current tech support a 2h melee weapon being treated as dual wielding? Example: double ended weapons or quarterstaves (As seen in D&D for example)

1. In scenes the magical standing stones can be activated to open a door. Could this be done for those that purchase the standing stones like a door opening or a chest?
2. Would it be possible for the light and dark unicorn horns to be used to make a wand or staff? If not already….
Concerning EP 2 and the new lands.
Similar to the serpent gates in UO will or could the “Twins” monuments on Elysium be used to fast travel to the new lands using words of power?
Combat – Weapon/armour enchantment “proc” Questions:
1) Does a chest “10% On Hit” mean when you hit them, or when they hit you? For weapons I assume it’s “on you hitting them”.
2) How does a “10% On Hit” weapon ability work with multiple targets? (each target gets a seperate 10% roll or one roll for all?)
3) Does the above change depending if it’s a “natural” hitting multiple targets (e.g. a halberd auto-attack) vs a skill that hits multiple targets (or multiple times – rapid fire)
Can we make it to where our Guest’s to our houses can use Remote Bank Machines or Mail Boxes ?
Can we get enchants or masterwork that enhance the crafting process …maybe allow faster batching (masterworks for tools)…. enchants for taming..enchants for gathering ? We can enhance warrior gear but we cant enhance the gear we craft/gather with ?
In the original Ultima games, druids were shown in the sprites as having a staff that was like a green snake. Please bring this type of staff to the game.
1. Please give us more craftable Viking/Norgard furniture (Beds, dressers, tables, wall shelves, bookcases, stools, a rug with all the runes around the perimeter, etc) and craftable plain cloth clothing, like a simple viking style tunic and trousers.

Happy birthday, thank you for designing a world of online games. We hope that SOTA can continue to be powerful and successful.
1.The combat system is still unstable, and the constant changes every month will make the players lose their patience. Therefore, a lot of losses will not allow the players to worry about losing all their efforts at once, and they have to worry about keeping away players DECAY.
2.The designer spent a lot of time developing beautiful art, but the design was too monotonous, and many different placement methods were not allowed. It would make the design a common decoration and fail to play the UO diversity. The attraction will drop.
3. Abandon DECAY, the player who has left may not be able to say that it is disgusting, but the number is not deceptive, not because a few people agree with it and let the entire game lose the risk of adventure, loss of vitality.

We have many principles to follow and there are many problems that we are eager to solve. The imbalance between the two makes it difficult for the game to move forward.
1.In terms of fees, because there are too few players, even if the monthly fee does not allow you to increase your income, let alone you are not allowed, then you may be able to sell VIPs that do not affect the balance of the game, the content can be completely without DECAY, some COTO, or other, etc. After all, everyone’s home is not very big. It is impossible to buy a lot of art items that are not placed in the place every month. Even if they are placed in an art museum, everyone’s collection is the same.
2.This game started with PAY TO WIN. Perhaps you can’t agree with it. But without money, you can’t buy good equipment. Of course, if you have money, you may not be able to buy it. Of course, the foundation of skills is too common, the impact of equipment is huge, and the equipment is good. The occurrence rate is low, and it is not always required that everyone likes to mine. Don’t just think of NERF. We have a lot of original designs that limit the development.
3.We need a system that is kind to the player, such as craftsman production, we want to produce more each time, for example in combat, I hope to see the duration of the skill more simply. This game requires a support tool. He can sell it for a monthly fee, but the designer is used to saying no to the player’s needs. Of course, a large number of players will say no to the game.

Question 1) Could we please get a listing of all the Deco Items that can be placed as POT Deco?
Hopefully it can be pulled quickly and easily from the Database with a query.
Question 2) With the UI Rework, could we please get a persistent, on-screen indicator when we have Decoration Mode enabled?
This has been a long-time request from many people and it never seems to click what we’re asking for. When you enable Decoration Mode, and move or place something, the Decoration UI does appear on the screen… However, this will fade if deco mode is not used for a few moments, or will remain on screen if pinned indefinitely regardless of whether Decoration Mode is enabled or not. Please either make this persistent when Decoration Mode is enabled (But not pin-able) or give us a Decoration Mode icon in the upper right of the screen where the Equipment Damage, Low Ammo, and similar items appear. I would prefer the latter.
Question 3) Could we please get a regular storage item that is designed to be stacked the way that the Casks are for Brewing?
The casks look very good, and I was hoping that they could be used as regular storage items… I’m not surprised that they’re not, but it would be wonderful to have a storage item or two that was similarly designed to be stacked.
Question: I noticed that the substitution of Lord-forged weapons for Duke+ custom headsculpts was not received with my acclaim on the forums. Those posting as a rule accepted that the headsculpts were not going to happen, but many suggested that some alternate reward to the Lord-forged weapons would be welcome. Is the Lord-forged substitution a done deal written in stone, or might these backers see an option for some other reward to replace the custom headsculpts? There seemed a strong feeling or concern of backers not being consulted on alternate ways to deal with the headsculpts being impractical to compete. Thanks for any consideration of this issue

During the last Post Mortem, you mentioned poisoning arrows. (yay super excited!)
Where are we with poisoning arrows, ignite weapon on bows, and Procs on bows?
Q1: Are there any recipes that use Unicorn horns and/or blood in the game yet? Asking for a friend.
Q2: Would you consider removing or lowering the access limitation to the Lost Vale now that it’s a few months old? It’s a great zone but very under utilized because of the access limitation.
Q3: Is there a reason that playing an instrument has to remove you from combat? Really destroys instruments for people who stack their skills (with the new out-of-combat timer)

Is there a possibility of backers getting a different reward than the Lord Forged weapons in place of the Custom Headsculpt? I realize the Custom Headsculpt is not in the cards, but feel that backers should have some input into a replacement reward they would appreciate in place of the Headsculpts.

2) Can we get an option to save our password? I can do this in my browser; really annoying that I have to type it in in the actual game.
3) You can no longer parry, deflect or dodge attacks from the rear, it I understood Atos correctly in the last release livestream. A lot of high (or low) fantasy shows characters having an awareness of what is behind them, and suddenly turning at the last moment, etc. How about a skill that allows partial use of defenses when attack from behind. Call it Combat Awareness, Veteran Reflexes, or Premonition of a Visit to the Anhk. Give the character with the skill 1% of their defenses from behind at level 1 and level of from their, with a max of 100% at the unobtainable 200 level.

-Will resource gathering ever have a clear progression? 1 thru 5 skull scenes having better/higher chance at meticulous collecting, with a higher chance of getting additional specialty ores…
(I asked this on the R54 Livestream Questions but as of this time it has yet to be answered, so I apologize if you have answered in the meantime)
1. When will we be able to buy tax free bundles in game with COTOs? What is the timeline/priority on this happening?
I have checked again and again and again…release after release after release…. and still have not found ALL the original Founder pledge items in offline mode. Where are the missing Pledge homes (LOTM, DUKE, Barron…) and anything else missing, for purchase with in game gold we were told we would have? This should have been complete by now and now that Episode 1 is basically complete, did you think we would forget about it? Time for answers!!!
1. Will there be patterns for training dummies?
2. Will there be the addition of exceptional foods triggered on crafting critical? I.E. Exceptional Wolf Surprise that sits in a separate stack.
3. Could we see difference in max durability in equipment based on tier? I.E. Plate Armor has less max durability than Augmented which has less max durability than epic. Same for regular, augmented, epic and fortified cloth.
– Five years ago, Richard Garriott estimated the cost of the game around $5/7 millions dollars (eurogamer.net). Shroud didn’t cost $5 million, not even $7 million but raised $13 millions, at least, and it seems that some game mechanics are not fully operational when Portalarium is now out of money. What’s the explanation with this difference ?
– As an investor, I realized with sadness that the game did not find enough public to get strong resources and accelerate the pace of its improvements. Many changes have been suggested on the forum. Will you consider those ?
– The combat and character progression system has been disappointing in terms of what is expected of an RPG today. As mentioned on the forums, several mechanisms encourage min / maxing, and discourage immersion. Do you plan a complete overhaul?
Q2: Are you aware of the fact that the overly punitive nature of the death DECAY system actually thwarts any desire to further the advancement of characters, and completely removes all desire to explore, adventure and take any risks ?
Q3: Would you consider bringing UO’s “Title” system into the game as a replacement for our current death DECAY as the “consequence” of death, IE “Glorious Lord Never Dies” to “Puny Mortal Dies A Lot”. At least that wouldn’t actively deter character advancement.

What about the Pipe Organ you were working a couple of months ago according to the “standup corner”?
Ultima Online was a true innovator when they made a mundane game task such as fishing actually fun and meaningful. When are we going to see fishing with possible Treasure Maps? And hopefully, the maps will offer potentially meaningful rewards and not more wooden dishes, torches and test tubes!

I am loving the Shroud has finally become a SOCIAL game with the LFG & Upper Tears Cave updates! Kudos to the Team! There seems to be a strong focus on PVP additions in the next few Updates.
Will you be able to sneak in some more non – PVP scenes that will continue the trend of Upper Tears Cave groups with rewards worthy for both Higher Level players & the Apprentices?
This scene is bringing both higher & lower level players together for a common goal & creating a tangible Social Network between players,

1) can we please get a pet damage filter in the combat log so I can easily see how much it contributes?
2) tamed pets are useless in PvP due to no magic resist and easily crowd control. Would you consider adding scaling magic resist and runspeed buff to taming specialization ?
3) any plans to adjust atunement for defensive purposes? Currently you need to grind every magic tree just for the attunement and related magic resist, even if you don’t use magic as your primary damage source. This creates a high barrier to entry for PvP as you need a decent amount of attunement to be competitive
1) Will it possible to remove death penalties when players died from natural envionments, objects, traps, fall down and some kinds of event that will damage player unpredictably?
2) Will you add a possible way that player can recover their lose exp from death with igg?or some kind of devotional buff that offer protection from death penalties?
Q1) Any chance we will see increased duration of spells as a result of stacking, such as Death Shield – not increasing its power like was removed – but just duration?
Q2) Thoughts on being able to “Salvage” a gem, such as an Amethyst – into gem fragments – for crafting of glass sheets?
Q3) Any chance we might see batching of salvage and items not currently covered by batching such as ‘wood pulp’ ?
Question: Will we ever get the ability to change a plot sign into a plot marker? Been a big ugly sign in front of my house since persistence I would love to get rid of.
Question: All I want to be able to do is turn corpse names off while still having mob health bars shown. To reduce screen clutter and be able to see. Can we expect these kind of UI improvements in the future?
Question 3: Currently, brewing will give us goblets of wine, mugs of beer, or cups of whiskey – will we ever have the option of getting a *bottle* of wine, beer, or whiskey?
[i.e. Something that would be easier to give to another player as, say, a Christmas gift….]
Question about the Large Telescope reward (and the Add-On Store version): Can this be placed on a roof? I’ve set up my Knight Marshal rooftop as an observatory with a moondial, but I’d love to put the telescope up there as well!
