Release 61 Livestream Today!

The Release 61 Livestream is set for today, Friday December 21! All Avatars from around the world are welcome to join us in the livestream activities. We will be doing deep dives, answering questions, having sales, handing out prizes, and tracking towards stretch goals. To celebrate the appearance of Krampus our theme is Dark Winter!

LAVA FISHING CONTEST:

During the Lava Fishing Deep Dive we are going to have a Lava Fishing contest! To participate in the contest go to the Oracle Colossus and start fishing at 4 PM. The best trophy fish (longest) caught by 4:45 PM will win a prize! NOTE: We will be verifying location and time!

Q1 2019 Schedule Update

Greetings Avatars,

2018 was a fantastic year for Shroud of the Avatar! We moved out of Early Access in March and Collector’s Boxes shipped in Q3! We made serious progress on improvements to quality of life and fixed huge numbers of bugs! In the final quarter of 2018 alone we added Player Made Dungeons, Fishing Phase 2, Pumpkin Head, and Krampus! Q1 of 2019 is going to kick us off with a bang! Envy Angel (another seasonal boss), more expansions to the Player Made Dungeons, Back Slot Item Stats, Fertilizer for Agriculture, Episode 2 kickoff, Baby Dragons and more polish!

Please read this entire message, as well as the linked Player Guide and Known Issues.

Release 61 of Shroud of the Avatar goes live this Thursday, December 13, at 10:30 AM US Central Time (15:30 UTC). “What? Already?” you might ask. As noted in our Q4 2018 post “The last two releases of the year (Nov/R60 and Dec/R61) will be very early in their respective months so that they are released well ahead of the US winter holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas).”

Release 61 is the final release in which we focused on the current iteration of our Top 10 Priorities (from Q4 2018 post). We made progress on several of these priorities including various quality of life fixes (automatic redemption of rewards & teleport to zone), bug fixes, seasonal content (Krampus!), more Fishing Phase 2 (lava fishing, lava fish, fishing skills), and more rooms for Player-Made Dungeons.

Community Livestream – Caroling (Dec 14)

Another content packed weekly Community Livestream is this Friday December 14 at 4 PM CT on Twitch!

This week we are going to go caroling through the game! Travis “Vas Corp Por” Koleski and Sarah “Serafina” Dworken will use our amazing in-game music system to serenade players in their homes.

This is the first Friday to earn the Release 61 Dark Winter stretch goals (in honor of Krampus) by making a purchase or by participating in the Rewards program! As a reminder we will be having massive sales (up to 50% off!) all weekend to help us hit those stretch goals.

Release 61 on QA with more Testing Rewards!

An early version of R61 is on the QA server. “So soon after Release 60?” you ask. As noted in our Q4 2018 Schedule Update: “PLEASE NOTE: The last two releases of the year (Nov/R60 and Dec/R61) will be very early in their respective months so that they are released well ahead of the US winter holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas).” R61 is full of new content and fixes, some of which is now on the QA server for early testing. We could really use everyone’s help to test all of this amazing content before it goes live!
