The Release 60 Livestream is set for Friday November 30! All Avatars from around the world are welcome to join us in the livestream activities. We will be doing deep dives, answering questions, having sales, handing out prizes, and tracking towards stretch goals.  By popular demand we have resurrected a set of stretch goals we missed from previous releases (and added a few new roleplay ones) to make a Cornucopia of Dragons, Dungeons and Roleplay in honor of the harvest season!

Release 60 of Shroud of the Avatar goes live this Thursday, Nov 15, at 10:30 AM US Central Time (15:30 UTC).

“What? Already?” you might ask. As noted in our Q4 2018 post “The last two releases of the year (Nov/R60 and Dec/R61) will be very early in their respective months so that they are released well ahead of the US winter holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas).”

Release 60 is the second release in which we focused on the current iteration of our Top 10 Priorities (from Q4 2018 post). We made progress on several of these priorities including various quality of life fixes (easier access to Crown Merchants), loot improvements (increased salvage rates for patterns, more player items in loot), bug fixes, seasonal content (2018 Winter Holiday Items), and Fishing Phase 2 (more fish recipes, POT bonus, fishing while sitting, etc.).

Another content packed weekly Community Livestream is this Friday November 16 at 4 PM CT on Twitch!

This week we are going to have a beach party and fishing contest in the new Fishing Expedition scene! To participate in the contest start fishing at 4 PM and the best trophy fish caught by 4:45 PM will win a prize! While the fishing contestants vie against each other, a party will be happening on the beach. So don your best beach wear and lounge on the sand, or shimmy to the tunes on Avatars Radio!

Another content packed weekly Community Livestream is this Friday November 9 at 4 PM CDT on Twitch!

This week we are going to talk about how Shroud of the Avatar facilitates Sandbox Roleplay with our housing system, emotes, conversations, clothing, and more. Our very own Travis “Vas Corp Por” Koleski is having the grand opening of his Mexican restaurant, “Dos Gardenias” and we will use that as our example of just one of the many possibilities our game makes possible. Various other Portalaroons will be staffing the restaurant and if you have ever watched a reality show about the restaurant business I am sure you know everything will go off smoothly opening night!

Also this is the LAST Friday to earn the Release 59 Fish themed stretch goals by making a purchase or by participating in the Rewards program! As a reminder we will be having massive sales (up to 50% off!) from noon to midnight on Friday to help us hit those stretch goals. Over the last two weeks we managed to achieve the first four stretch goals which means we can now role-play Fish people with the Fish Masks! This is the first step to Fish people versus Horse people wars but for these to be visually effective we need to get the Fish Shield and Swordfish Sword and if you really want to terrify the Horse people we need to get the Shark mask!

Every year we form a Movember team called Moustache of the Avatar to raise funds for Movember. To date we have raised over $3300 through fundraising for Movember. We have also created dedicated items for our Movember Make a Difference store including a Moustache Helm, Shield, and Cloak. Last year we even created Darkstarr and Lord British Follicular Reliquaries with Darkstarr and Lord British versions of the Movember items. Those items and other Movember tagged items have raised over $7,000 for Movember to date!

Stay tuned for Release 60 when the 2018 Winter items will start appearing including the 2018 Snow Family and 2018 Snowman Masks which this year feature moustaches in honor of Movember!

We are experiencing lockups when loading certain parts of our website like the Add On Store. If you encounter this problem we recommend trying an alternate browser to see if that resolves the issue for you, we are currently experiencing the least issues with Firefox.

Update: The issue happened only on Chrome, as far as we can tell, and it is due to Chrome not being able to handle more than just a few CSS animations (in this case spinning a .png file) without sometimes deadlocking. We removed those for now to work around this Chrome bug.
