So I was just getting around to watching the year end Pen of the Avatar (which was prior to the pre-alpha) and Lum said: "If you have any fun, please report that as a bug." So... Had LOTS of Fun Version: 49 Reproduction Rate: 100% Blocker? No Details: I had a perverse amount of fun in game: even before Owl's Head when I was stuck in a room full of chickens. I spent hours searching for chests and collecting enough crap to crash me out of game and never got bored. I also had fun dumping my crap into houses until the game crashed. The worst part of this bug is that I really enjoyed talking with NPCs which had little to say in return. I am not sure what the citizens of Owl's Head thinks of me, but somehow I am sure its not good. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Leave work early or take vacation. 2. SPAM download link until you get the launcher. 3. Install Launcher. 4. Get patch and seed for others. 5. Launch game and login. 6. Sit back in bliss and enjoy the "Not a Game" Pre-Alpha. Note: Insanity might be a factor User Specs: Windows 7 Pro 64bit SP1, AMD Phenom 2 X6 1090T 3.20 GHz, 8 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 550 Ti, LOTS OF ENTHUSIASM. Please post your own Bug report for Lum here.
I had almost the exact same bug occur to me multiple times throughout R1, starting with an ~ 12hr long instance between 1145am - midnight on Thursday. I volunteer to check anytime to see if it is still happening...
Bug Report: Much Fun Was Had Version: 1.0 Pre-Alpha Reproduction Rate: 100% Blocker? No Details: I felt a building sense of anticipation and excitement as the launcher completed installation, which was not disclosed in the instructions. When I went through the character creation process, I was overwhelmed with the nostalgic joy of the original Ultima games. Clearly this should be nerfed post-haste. During the conversations with the NPCs of Owl's Head, I was forced to use strange and rustic measures as "Name? Job? Bye!" when typing my answers, which led to excessive use of my internal imagination and creative centers. I am disconcerted at the developer's blatant lack of pandering that required my FULL attention to the details taking place on the screen! Also, the graphics were beautifully designed and aesthetically pleasing to where I felt immersed in a fantastic fantasy world. This is over-powered in comparison to Real Life, please fix immediately. Finally, the conclusion of the Pre-Alpha testing period led to a sense of disappointment and impatience waiting for the next release post-haste. How dare you provide me with such a tantalizing measure of forthcoming enjoyment? I was forced to provide additional pledge support as a result. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Lack of sleep to maximize enjoyment 2. Turn off cellphone 3. Introduce friends to support User Specs: Human
We <3 You very very much!! Can you post a Top 5 conversations that made you laugh? When you get time that is!
I plan to get knee deep in the results over the holiday week when I can work from home and possibly drink a lot of spiked egg nog while going through some of the more unique entries. Will post results assuming my sanity holds.
If it doesn't you could add a few of your own!.... I am still waiting for the add-on store item.... Bottle of Scotch for the Dev team!
You knew you were asking for it. I was watching the POTA and said, "No he just didn't!" This thread HAD to happen then.
This bug has also occurred for me. It began at the login page. The bug persists even when not playing but while thinking about R2.
I felt an incredible sense of joy and disturbance that a stable boy is so well-versed in ways to kill Lord British. Lord British needs to start paying better wages, I think... Come release two, I am almost afraid to look up when walking into buildings. You mark my words, there'll be a golden plaque up there. Hungering. Waiting.
Hehehe. I concur! This thread brought to light a bug I had neglected to post, but which I have decidedly encountered. Wicked me. I think I encountered this bug to such a degree I grew to like it..
Just to clarify, Portalarium. If you actually fix this bug I think you might have a lynch mob coming to visit Austin.
Well that is fix it with anything other then releasing the game to us full time. Because then it would become, Continuous Fun, and no longer be in the past tense.
Indeed... that was the bug that I encountered... suddenly I was no longer able to access the game! I am now suffering from severe withdrawal, complete with fever, shaking, sneezing, sore throat... oh wait, that might just be my cold...
If you come across my 8-year-old daughter's conversations you might have a good laugh. She was cracking-up at some of the nonsensical replies she received when talking to various NPCs around the stable. She really wanted to "buy a horse" but the random NPC's that she chose to talk to didn't quite understand what she was saying. It was pretty funny to hear her react to the various non sequitur responses each NPC returned when they couldn't parse a particular input. Good stuff.
