I would like the option to toggle the grid visibility on the overland map. I found a couple of times when I was going from hex to hex that I wasn't sure if I've moved far enough to be in the next hex, or if I overshot a hex.
Sounds good, but it won't matter that much until and unless they link dexterity or some other skill to the move speed through map terrain .
Hmm didn't one see the hex name somewhere, I have a fuzzy memory of moving back and forth over an invisible line to check where it changed from one to the other???
I agree. If its a game of hex scenes, that's ok, but it would be great for the game to enable that feeling when we want to feel it on the overland map. And of course the ability to zone hex to hex without exiting to the overland map if we choose.
You're not imagining things, the text at the bottom of the overland map does indeed tell you what hex you're on. I'd actually like to turn that text off since 99% of the time it will give the name of a templated hex (Forest01, Forest02, Swamp03, PlainsRoad02, etc.) which are somewhat meaningless. Perhaps only show the name for actual unique hexes (POIs)?
So long as it is optional to turn a hexgrid on, yes. But it should not be turned in all the time as this would destroy to feeling of walking around in a world.
Yes, there's no problem if the two scenes are different. My concern is going from one plains hex to another plains. Or from one forest to another forest, etc.
What should happen IMO is where you exit the hex on the arch there is a small chaos symbol with a spinning arrow that you can point in 5 different directions, clicking on the center would transport you to the hex in that direction. Just walking out would send you to overworld map.
