Sure sure... pickpockets can be thieves, almost every time. But what about this? Pickpocket places a cursed item, unbeknownst to you, into your backpack! You then wonder, "Why the heck am I taking so much damage from falling?!?" Pickpocket places evidence into your backpack, unbeknownst to you! A local guard approaches you, "Excuse me sir, but I've been directed to search your bags. Please comply..." As the bags are searched, you discovered you've been framed for _________!" A kind "pickpocket" plants a small gift in your bag. Later on, as you begin to sell your wares at the nearby merchant, you find you have a sparkling red gem also to sell! Some of these concepts could be worked into quest mechanics as well.
Love these ideas. Would be awesome if we could play the Robinhood/Aladdin ideal of stealing from rich and place it in poor peoples' bags or even just sneak around and place surprise xmas present on people
