Hi ho, catguys

My name is Tangar Glaz, I’m 30, from Moscow, Russia... But I enjoy to speak English %)

I've just started to play SotA... I waited for this moment for a long time (I do not like to play if there would be a wipe - I put part of my soul to my character..) and finally we are there %)

As many others, I came to SotA from Ultima Online. I play UO since 1999 (Drachenfels&Catskills, then at Siege Perilous and a lot of freeshards)...

When I just started to play SotA, I've made several streams in Russian at first (to help russian players to understand the game), but from now on I'll start to stream SotA at my English youtube channel %)

My 1st SotA stream in English is... my first impressions %) Cause SotA is very interesting game in the way of first impressions... Quite complex game. Here is my first view:

Who I am:

youtuber I got ~40 YT channels, some of them in English. Youtube is my life
MMO-expert MMORPGs are part of my life for almost 20 years
journalist author of Russian gaming magazines
musician rock band leader, guitar teacher, casual dj (electroclash, dark d'n'b)
ecologist PhD %) I work at university as a soil scientist (computer science stuff)
web designer I'm developing websites and also work as graphical designer
writer I'm in long process of creating my own fantasy world. Writing it for a long years already %)

And finally I'm founder of Russian streamers community – Stream Guild.

Also I like sport (a lot of types: from karate to hiking), I do not drink alchohol (mad Russian!?), I enjoy cooking, I'm interested in history and politics, I like to draw (but not really good at it yet), I enjoy making photos (got instagram "igroglaz"). One of my dreams is to learn how to sew. I wanna make cloth for my self and my friends

So... Back to gaming stuff. From recent times, my main activities now in English. I enjoy speak English with you, catguys! So I got two English youtube channels:

2) Я конечно не ММО эксперт, но совет не проходите квесты в начале - самый неправильный совет который можно дать нубам в этой игре.
3) Русские новые игроки, я вас очень прошу читайте форум на английском и спрашивайте, не портите себе впечатление от этой действительно классной игры этими стримами.

Very cool thread. Enjoyed myself looking through all of them.

 

I agree with this. Quests loose their value because as higher level you become as progressively more exp you need to level skills, and I mean a LOT more. These quests are very useful first 40-50 adv levels , after that, it will not be as valuable exp wise. I personally recommend to vary - go do quests, then go do some hunting; do quests, hunting - rinse and repeat. Most of quests give about 3000 exp and it will not be enough to level even one skill after 40-50.

 

I don't know what are you talking about, guys. Please watch my video attentively (as I understand, you discuss this one), before blaming me for something which I didn't tell or may be what you misunderstood.

In that video I said that SotA is _sandbox_ game and you are not obliged to focus _only_ at questing like in other traditional MMORPGs, where the only way to lvl is questing. Of course SotA has very interesting storyline, but as game right now is in early development and some quests could not give full satisfaction - better do not focus _only_ at quests, but also explore the world and especially pay attention to system of character advancement, which is already (even in early development ) quite perfect.

Also I made that video when I just started my adventures in SotA, after ~10 hours or so. Now I played much more (~50 hours I suppose) and I'll create a new video with my thoughts about this subject very soon
