Awesome video One thing that video has made me notice is the distinct lack of bright blue sky or clear, jet-black starry nights. I know it's probably something they will work on later, but it's the one thing that bothered me most about the sky. Or maybe it was just the angle of the shot?
That can change depends on weather, there is a weather system as part of a stretch goal. Won't always be the same.
Yeah, that bugged me as well. I gave that feedback in the other thread regarding length of day/night cycle. But some key things I saw after doing this: - the background stars do not move - the motion (path) of the celestial bodies do not seem correct - the image of the moon and stars are hazy and washed out -- colors do not pop, they don't shine - there are always clouds over Owl's Head -- never a clear day - the night sky is has a bright blue tint -- need jet black dark skies in this medieval setting - the day sky is always hazy -- no deep blues or contrast - the darkness level of the night doesn't seem to be affected whether the moon is overhead or not Once they implement weather and seasons, I'm hoping this will also fix the above issues
Thanks! Sorry for the low res, but the resulting AVI would have been too massive to upload at 1080p. Maybe I'll redo it at full res but speed it up to 15s.
Ok, so with the extra day in R2 I was able to make another timelapse! Enjoy... I'm in the process of uploading a side-by-side to show the differences between R1 and R2, especially for the corrected orbital motion of the shattered moon.
Oh yeah... orbital path is MUCH better in R2. It looked odd in R1 in real time and looks COMPLETELY messed up in the time lapse.
Ok, side-by-side timelapse is up! R1 vs R2, fight! Anyone else notice while they were playing that the days got longer while the nights got shorter? The overall day/night cycle remained at 1 real hr = 1 game day.
must be summer time I do believe a 1 hr day night cycle is as long as you want, especially if NPC interactions (Shopping) end at night and bad things come out.
I've been having a LOT of trouble with this. I vastly prefer a 4 hour cycle. It makes things seem at least somewhat 'realistic'.
Nice Smack!!! I shared them with my readers for the non-forum crowd. http://www.thecaverns.net/Wordpress/timelapse-videos-by-smack/
