    G'day avatars o/

I recorded an small performance test video yesterday with some loading times and the "fps" option enable. Tomorrow I'm gonna upload a new video with same locations and loading times running the r37.

Hope this might help to have more performance feedback from the community.

I already notice a big difference taking the boat outside of Brittany to Hidden Vale, much faster going to/from.

Graphics are certainly running way faster. However, on my OSX machine, there are severe graphics glitches now. Especially during movement and around light sources, the world falls apart and becomes a neon noise mess. After my windows computer updates I will compare, but i'm curious if anyone else is seeing similar bugs? I'll also try to post a screencap tonight.

my experience on mac has been similar after various releases - they tend to get it ironed out via patches within days of the releases. It could be caused by third-party assets that the team purchases - maybe those purchased assets were not correctly designed/tested for cross-platform, but the issue only appears after some unity update exposes the asset to some new feature.

we just have to report anything and wait patiently for them to correct the offending assets or textures

    Really?
It seemed very slow to me, to the Hidden Vale it just stayed on 50% for about 30 seconds......

I'm also getting slower load screens than before - Similar experince to what you are describing - could it be a server delivery issue related to a glut of players updating and playing?

I like the new loading screens and tool tips a lot. It makes the wait a little more pleasant not looking at that same old grey loading screen a dozen times or more every time I play. Can't really claim anything is better or worse on my machine which was all maxed out anyway. Based on what Chris said, it is the people with more average hardware and spin drives that will really notice the difference.

Everything seems to work fine on my Mac Pro.

I haven't had an issue since, maybe, R17.

I have noticed the first load of any location seems to take a little longer, but then going back is faster, almost like it had to re-download all the updated assets instead of using cached versions.

I am having similar issues on Mac OS X. Where things would be somewhat slow in loading before, they now take more time than is reasonable to wait. What before took a minute to populate on the screen, now takes nearly 20 minutes... and that's if it even populates. I'm talking about the house I live in. The crafting pavilion in the town I live. It's a problem.

There is so much ranting and raving on these forums about things that there is room to give a pass on. I didn't want to add my voice to that chorus (and I am not), but the above is how r37 has suddenly made the game I have been playing comfortably for the last 2 months nearly unplayable. I hope the devs realize they are taking the Mac client out of the realm of being usable.

Thought I would update from my previous post: things have settled down. I do have graphics glitches that weren't there before and the general improvements in performance I do not see... but the crazy load times have gone away. Thought it only fair to lend my voice to an update of the above.
