What in this game makes it worth flagging for PVP.

Killing each other is a given. But there is no other reason besides that to flag PVP, there is nothing in PVP worth losing all my gear etc..... this game is pretty lame on the PVP front. but there is actually no reason to take the risk!

I wish the devs would just say this game is PVE only. Would make everything alot easier, there wouldnt be fights between what is and what isnt fair etc.... if they would just kill the idea totally of pvp. I would happily move to another game for PVP! If you have to have it, based on what was advertised at least make it worth our while, let the PVE play thier game (since this is mostly catered to them..) and give us something for playing in PVP. It really pisses me off that we cant have anything for PVP in this game thats worth the risk, i spent alot of cash on this game just like anyone else did! Give us something worth while or cancel it all together. there isnt ever going to be a meeting half way on anything, its proven in these forums over and over.

 

I flag because it makes my heart beat faster and it helps me meet the most interesting people.

I am totally with you that more is needed and I honestly don't see myself playing anymore if they ever removed it completely from the game.

 

I stay flagged because running back and forth to the Oracle is dumb... time for 500 gold - go see the oracle.... time for a flag - go see the Oracle... time to unflag - go see the Oracle... *checks to see if tomorrow's gold stipend is ready... ok - ready to grind!

So first a caveat in that the list that follows below is not yet showing the "meaningful PvP" that was mentioned in the Kickstarter. EVE has meaningful PvP, so far SotA is not there yet.

However with that said, the question was "What in this game makes it worth flagging for PVP" and anyone answering that would do so from a very subjective reference frame, so the line which makes it "worth it" will differ from person to person. But from the top of my head, so far we get (haven't verified all so some are from Dev info only):

• 10 % more adventure XP gain
• 10 unique scenes which are PvP, with;
  • Higher spawn rate of resource nodes and/or higher yield in those nodes of rare drops.
  • Top tier resource nodes and thus giving max gathering XP.
  • Higher drop rate of Obsidian Crowns.
• Loot in the form of a ransom and body part system.
  • Unique crafting recipes from those body parts.
• Loot from the PickPocket skill.
• Skills that cater specifically to PvP and less so for PvE.
• Plaques for war victories

Probably more stuff if I think about it.

I only listed stuff that are in the game right now. I have not listed anything that is planned in the future since things can change.

 

How do you get plaques for war victories?

 

Have a guild leader declare a guild war on another guild leader - win said war - get your trophy.

 

what can we craft with body part?

 

nice! I didn't even know guild wars were a thing yet. I have to get a guild started...

 

we can fight each other and take turns losing so we both get a plaque lol, Im not a crafter but now i remember that, its ok but not worth PVP. I keep my fingers crossed that there will be a reason to flag for pvp!

 

So far its simply to break the grind of pve.

There is nothing special about sota pvp at all.
Only reason i do it with guildies is same reason i play hardcore characters in diablo 3. Just adds a little extra excitement then if im not.

 

Duke avery. Should just buckle dwn and join us at ORC. Starting this friday we gonna do weekly pvp days. Where we simply gonna go * claim a zone * and scrap with anyonr and everyone for fun. We wont be keepen ransoms of anyone under 10 gms aswell, so its literally just gonna be for fun. ( on top of fact we like to screw around a lot as is, and we dont take ourselvs too seriously. ) but were hovering around 55-60 people atm i belive, and a solid 10-15 on at any given time. ( id say only about 5-10 or whose in guild dont play a whole lot ).

At least on friday come kill me. will post which zone when i get home lol.
