The fireplace recipe only makes the fireplace, no chimney.

Confirmed. I just made the 2 in-game craftable versions (Stone Fireplace and Stone & Wood Fireplace) and both come with just the bottom piece. No chimney extensions were provided.

Are these intended to be separate recipes for each extension piece? I tried adding additional similar materials to the basics and nothing seemed to create a new recipe.

Based on the patch notes, it looks like the kits are only available in the addon store. If so, is there a way for us to test the addon store stuff on the QA server?

I originally thought that was the way the craft-able versions were going to be handled too, but it's possible the "powers that be" decided that for the ones you could craft without purchasing anything you would get separate recipes for crafting each piece type individually, and make as many as you needed (instead of depending on a "fixed piece amount" set)... I'm actually not sure...but looking back at it, that might be the right way to go with the ones you can craft yourself (giving you more control over which pieces you actually make, and thus conserving resources by not creating extraneous pieces)...

Love that ornate cast iron fireplace Scottie! Grabbed the pack off the store and can't wait to place it in game.

    3x Wood (raw)
    Smelting Tongs
    Stone Chisel

    Stone & Wood Fireplace:
    30x Granite
    3x Wood (raw)
    5x Wood-Timber
    Smelting Tongs

That's kind of what I expected too... different recipe for each type/piece. But there were only recipes available for the main hearth pieces so far. I even tried experimented with different quantities of mats to try to discover the other pieces' recipes. No luck.

Do you think you could get confirmation from the "powers that be" on whether these are intended to be kits or individuals?

maybe i missed it but how is this going to effect the homes that already come with a fireplace in them?

such as the shingle roof houses and others. are we going to be stuck with them?

Does anyone who has played with these on the QA server know if I could use a 4-pack to reach the upper floor of an Obsidian Tower Village home, or do I need the 9 pack?

Anyone with an update about chimneys? Any recipes out there which work, or are purchasable, now that the prod servers are updated to R34 and build #484? (No mention in the release notes, but just hoping...)

Personally, I really like those houses with the built in fireplaces. That was part of their charm.

Great work on the fireplaces, @Scottie! I've been looking forward to them before they were on the drawing board - and they have exceeded all of my high expectations!

The general rule of thumb is, if you have a house that is taller than a single story, you will most likely need the 9-pack, especially if the need requires it to look like it "passes through" several solid floors. When I was playing around with that particular house style while testing the fireplaces, I seem to recall using more pieces than what the simple 4-pack contains....
